David Hopper

Joint Managing Director

A highly experienced developer and project manager, David has worked in the property industry for approximately 20 years.
David started his career managing a property portfolio for Sydney University, then gained experience in sales and leasing of retail shopping centres and commercial office buildings with CBRE. David transitioned to his passion of development where he undertook site acquisitions, leasing, feasibility studies, project procurement and delivery for Woolworths (Fabcot) and also on behalf of clients whilst working at Clifton Coney. His projects have covered residential, retail and commercial projects in NSW, Queensland and Victoria.
Mr Hopper founded Kaipara in 2011 and has been highly successful in growing this business. He is an ethical and dedicated property professional who values relationships and ensuring that stakeholder interests are aligned to the core values of the business.
David has a Bachelor of Business & Commerce (Property) from WSU, a Masters in Commerce from Sydney University and a Masters of Property Development from UTS. He is also a member of the Property Council of Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Toby Daniel

Toby Daniel

Joint Managing Director

Toby has over 25 years of international experience across property investment, corporate finance and funds management. Over the past 15 years he has transacted or advised on property transactions and developments for private investors and institutions with a completed value of over US$3bn.
Mr Daniel is experienced in direct, indirect and corporate transactions in all major real estate sectors.
Prior to joining Kaipara as a Joint MD in 2016, Toby worked for large real estate institutions including CBRE Capital Advisors, JLL Corporate Finance, Logos and Babcock & Brown after starting his career with Ernst & Young Corporate Finance. He is a strategic thinker with deep domestic and global networks having lived and worked in London, Zurich, Sydney and Adelaide.
Mr Daniel is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand, a Fellow of Finsia, holds a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment and a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Adelaide.

Matthew Woodroffe

Matthew Woodroffe

Head of Asset Management

Matthew has 20 years of experience in the property investment management industry across Australia, UK and Europe. He started his career as an analyst for Ernst & Young and AMP Capital before moving to the UK to work on a Morgan Stanley joint venture retail investment fund. He then moved into commercial asset and portfolio management with Dexus, Lendlease and the City of Sydney.
Matthew has experience managing a range of asset classes, from single tenanted industrial warehouses, heritage listed CBD commercial buildings to super regional shopping centres.
His main focus is on investment performance and customer service.
Matthew holds a Bachelor of Property Economics from The University of Technology, Sydney.

Gabriela de Morais Franca

Gabriela de Morais Franca

Assistant Development Manager

Gabriela qualified as a civil engineer in 2016 and commenced her career in the construction industry. She started as a designer and project manager of affordable housing in Brazil and worked in the structural review of the temporary steel structures for the volleyball and football stadiums for the Rio Olympics 2016.
In 2019, Gabriela moved to Australia and started working as a client side junior project manager and tenancy coordinator across industrial and retail developments. Gabriela has worked on a range of contracts and is experienced in contract administration, program management, cost management and design coordination.
Gabriela's attention to detail creates trust that nothing is being overlooked and developments are delivered with rigour and quality. She is a team player and strongly believes that a positive attitude and upfront action are key to mitigating any issues.

Faiz Kayani

Faiz Kayani

Analyst

Faiz graduated with a First-Class Honours in Economics from the University of Essex. He then went on to gain internship experience working within corporate finance boutiques in London specialising in M&A and capital raising transactions, before commencing his Masters in Corporate Finance at Bayes Business School (formerly Cass Business School).
Upon completion of his Masters in 2021, Faiz joined the Savills Capital Advisors team as an Analyst delivering financial analysis, modelling, and transactional advisory services to a wide range of investors, developers, operators and lenders.
Faiz recently moved to Sydney from London to seek new challenges and opportunities, and to leverage his expertise in the dynamic Australian market.

Managing Director - Kaipara Datacentre Solutions (KDC)

Joel has extensive experience in the mechanical and datacentre industry. Prior to joining as MD of Kaipara Datacentre Solutions, Joel was Head of Business Development at Climatech for over 8 years.
Joel first started working on projects in the datacentre industry in 2007 and has been in construction business development roles for over 20 years. He worked with WSP on the Google Twin Tower Singaporean DC (design and construction), managed the design and construction of indirect free cooling systems for the Australian Federal Government and with a key focus on sustainability.
Joel’s strong network across the datacentre sector, have enabled Joel to truly understand his clients needs and how to deliver projects on time and on budget.

Toby has 18 years experience in the property industry, working in development and project management with boutique developers and institutions including GPT. Toby has successfully delivered projects across a range of sectors including retail, education, defence, health, residential, land development and civil projects for government and institutional clients.
Toby was recently awarded both the NSW and National Australian Institute of Building Professional Excellence Awards for project management for his role as project leader of the $200m David Jones Elizabeth Street store redevelopment in Sydney’s CBD.
He holds a Master of Construction Project Management (UNSW) and a Bachelor of Property Economics (UTS).

Wendy Boyd

Wendy Boyd has been working in the development industry for 15 years holding a range of senior marketing positions. Wendy has been the marketing manager on numerous new community launches as well as managing major campaigns which promoted multiple developments both state and Australia wide. Wendy has extensive experience managing the launch of new residential and retail developments which cover all areas of marketing including brand development, market research, signage, collateral, website, digital, campaign management, database communications and reporting. Wendy is passionate about clearly communicating the vision and benefits of new developments and is committed to delivering great new places for customers to enjoy.
